Repressive Rule

By Veronica Nkwocha

The aura of power
Is alive and powerful
Watch ordinary men
Fall on their knees.

The aura of power
Is in the mind
It ebbs and wanes
When we shine the light of truth.

Its scepter is false
Though we know it not
We enable it rule
When we’re silent and kneel.
